What is Aira?
Aira operates as a Visual Interpreting Accommodation Service, an application that facilitates real-time connections between individuals who are blind or have low vision and live, professionally-trained visual interpreters for immediate assistance.

How does Aira work?
The Aira Explorer app establishes a link to a remote Agent who engages in conversations, descriptions, and assistance tailored to individual requirements. This app streams live video footage, complete with GPS coordinates, enabling an Aira Agent to delve into the user's surroundings through an integrated dashboard, observing and hearing the environment. Agents are equipped with web-based resources like maps, location tracking, search engines, text-based messaging, and even rideshare integration – meticulously calibrated to provide a seamless experience for individuals who are blind or have low vision.

Who uses Aira and why?
Aira is suitable for anyone requiring access to visual information to navigate physical or digital accessibility challenges. It covers tasks such as describing, reading, explaining, navigating – essentially offering assistance for a wide range of activities securely and efficiently. Users of Aira are referred to as Explorers. The collaboration between Agents and Explorers is distinctive due to their mutual goal-oriented approach. In addition to professional visual assistance, having an Aira account grants access to a supportive community.
